Hi Darren,
I’d like to explore something that I find particularly challenging in Marcionite theology.
You previously explained to me that God the Father, revealed by Jesus Christ, is the ultimate Creator of everything.
But how do you reconcile this with Marcion’s distinction between the Good God revealed by Christ and the creator or ruler of the material world?
Could we understand creation as a hierarchy, with the Father as the ultimate source of existence, Christ as the Logos and mediator, and possibly subordinate powers responsible for organizing or governing the material world?
In other words, could God the Father be the ultimate Creator without being the direct administrator of worldly affairs?
I’m genuinely interested in how the modern Marcionite Christian Church approaches this question, particularly given the suffering and injustice we observe throughout human history.
Best regards
